Information on the Potential Closure of Sun Street Transfer Station and City of Salinas Notice of Intent to Withdraw

Closure of Sun Street Transfer Station

On December 6, 2018 the City of Salinas issued a Notice of Intent to Withdraw from our agency, Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority aka Salinas Valley Recycles (SVR).  SVR is actively working with the city administration to resolve or reach consensus on this issue however the impacts of this action to the agency and community services and programs we provide are unknown at this time.
