Facilities Expansion
Regional Solid Waste Management Project
The residents of the Salinas Valley produce 900 tons of garbage per day. And the two landfills where all that trash goes aren't bottomless pits. Depending on a few variables, each will be filled within 5 to 50 years.
Regional Solid Waste Facilities Project EIR
The SVSWA is embarking on a plan to guarantee that the residents and businesses of the Salinas Valley have space for their garbage for the next 70 years. The SVSWA has prepared an EIR, required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), to inform decision-makers and citizens of any potentially significant environmental impacts resulting from the proposed project.
